Notable Quote:
“A bar of iron, worth 1 pound, when wrought into horseshoes, is worth 2 pounds; if made into needles it is worth 70 pounds; into pen knife blades, it is worth 650 pounds, into springs for watches it is worth 50,000 pounds. The more it is hammered and passed through the fire and polished, the greater its value. Those who suffer most are capable of yielding most.” F.B MEYER Lord how long must I be a horseshoe!
Thank you for your responses to my last email update, the “PipesLine” that covered the advantage of using short-term missions as a leadership development tool. We are glad that we can be of a service in helping train and develop leaders for the church.
Monday, May 24, I leave for Uganda. The purpose of the trip is for me to focus my attention on the staff and on medical camp planning. This is my once a year trip to go and be with the staff without a team. I will start the debriefing process with the interns that will be leaving next month. Through my time with the staff I hope to get a better understanding of how we, (IM Stateside) can better serve our missionaries and staff living and serving in Uganda.
Additionally, I will be meeting with the staff and others that will be part of the medical outreach. The medical camps have a lot of details that need to be finalized to make the outreach as effective as possible. I will meet with the local government officials to get their stamp of approval. We do this because then we can conduct the medical work outside the church walls without fear of interference.
I will need to find a new supplier of medication. We lost confidence in the one we used last year. So I will need to hit the streets and make many inquires about availability of certain items we need and pricing.
I thank you in advance for your prayer support. In addition to the few needs I have listed above I have made a daily prayer list for me below. As I often say and feel I can never say enough, YOUR PRAYER SUPPORT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. I am a needy person; I need God’s provisions coupled with your prayers to survive in this ministry.
Blessings,
John
